AccountMate 6.0 for SQL and MSDE - Inventory Specification

If you need easy, quick and accurate management of your goods for sale, AccountMate 6.0's Inventory Specification module is an excellent tool to have on hand. This module allows you to create categories for inventory items, such as size, color, weight and texture, and then to track and price them by each category created. This provides you with the ability to quickly suggest a similar item when the desired specification is not available, thereby keeping sales strong. Standard item specifications can be applied to any inventory item. Inventory Specification is integrated with the Inventory Control, Sales Order, Accounts Receivable and Purchase Order modules.

Establish a Multi-tiered Inventory Structure with Easy-to-use Menu Options

You can now create multiple categories of inventory items so you do not have to create an item in Inventory Maintenance for every specification type and code.

Inventory Types and Item Specification

You can pre-select which inventory item types will use Item Specification. The selected inventory items will have item specification selected when new inventory items are created.

Define Warehouse Reorder Points and Quantities for Specification Items

Warehouse reorder points and quantities can be set up for each specification code created. This tool works in tandem with the reorder points and quantities set up in Inventory Maintenance for the inventory items themselves. You can add or change the reorder point level and quantity for each specification code individually if necessary. The reorder point levels and quantities you set up through this menu option will help determine when goods will be ordered when using the Create Purchase Order by Reorder Quantity and the Reorder Report functions.

Assign Specification Easily

After you have created an inventory item and you are ready to assign specification codes, you simply click on the Setup Spec. button in Inventory Maintenance. You then select the previously created specification codes you want to assign to the inventory item you’re currently working with.

Create Unlimited Specification Codes

You can create as many specification codes as you need for each specification type. For example, if you have a specification type designated as “color,” you can create codes for as many different colors as you might have stocked in inventory. If you have twenty different colors, you save valuable time that would otherwise have been spent keying in each color version of the inventory item into Inventory Maintenance. You can also make changes to the specification codes as needed without making changes to the inventory item itself in Inventory Maintenance.

Inventory Item Specification Reporting Features

You can run several reports that will give you valuable information regarding the specification types and codes you create:

  • The Specification Type and Code List displays each Specification Type created along with its Specification Codes and descriptions.
  • The Inventory Specification List displays each inventory item and its associated Specification Type and Code.

Integration with Inventory Control, Sales Order, Accounts Receivable and Price Control Modules

Integration with the Inventory Control includes an enhanced feature in Inventory Adjustment that enables you to adjust inventory volumes by Specification Code.

Integration with the Sales Order, Accounts Receivable and Price Control modules provides the ability to create multi-level pricing in Inventory Basic Price Maintenance by Specification Code.
