Lot
Control Module
Effectively Manage Critical Inventory
You have instant access to the status,
effective date and disposition of critical or perishable inventory
items. This enables units of a lot-controlled item to be tracked,
used or sold well before their indicated perishable dates. Customers
can also be notified of any problems with items they have purchased,
and learn about product upgrades or similar items that might be
of interest to them.
Track Movement of Lot-Controlled Items
When moving units of an item from one warehouse or bin to another,
you can identify the lots from which the items came.
Quick Assignment of Lot Numbers
You can assign lot numbers to any or all the units of a specific
item stored in a particular warehouse bin, listed on a particular
purchase order or a customized kit item on a sales order. Lot numbers
can be assigned to standard kits as they are built.
Easily Identify Lot-Controlled Items
Lot-controlled items are clearly flagged on their inventory records
and on the transaction lines of sales orders, invoices, and received
goods records.
Lot Numbers Can Be Printed
Lot numbers can be printed on invoices, providing the ability to
quickly verify when and to whom you have sold units from a particular
lot. This can be an important customer service tool if there is
a product recall, modification or upgrade.
Expiration Dates
You can indicate the expiration date and bin locations of units
produced in each lot. You can quickly check the expiration date
and location of units in a particular lot when managing your inventory,
as well as verifying the expiration date when a customer calls.
Easy Management of the Lot Control
Module
You can activate and deactivate lot control with the click of a
button in the Inventory Control module Setup function. You can also
set up lot control for particular inventory items through their
item records.
Integration of Lot Control with Serial
Numbers
Lot-controlled items can be individually serialized. You can assign
a lot number to a group of units of an item, such as to a group
of computer monitors produced on a certain day, and you can also
assign a specific serial number to each monitor.
Purchase Order Integration
Lot control numbers can be assigned to items when receiving purchase
orders.
Sales Order Integration
Lot control numbers can be assigned to specific units shipped to
customers.
System
or Vendor Lot Number
You can track lotcontrolled items by entering and using the vendor's
lot-control number or your own lotcontrol number. Systemgenerated
lot-control numbers are especially useful for items manufactured
in-house, while vendor lot numbers are more appropriate for items
acquired from vendors.
Expiration Date Report
You can generate reports about lot expiration dates to determine
how many units of each lot-controlled item have a specific expiration
date; thus, determine what items in a lot will expire first. It
can be generated for all or a range of item numbers, lot numbers,
vendor numbers and/or expiration dates; and can be sorted by lot
number, item and lot number, vendor number, or expiration date.
This report provides the ability to better manage perishable inventories.
Recalled Items Report
You can generate a report that displays information about the units
of an item that need to be recalled. Specify all or a range of item
numbers, lot numbers, create dates and/or transaction dates, and
display information about all of the selected items, those that
are still in stock, or only those that have been sold. The report
can be sorted by in-house lot number, vendor lot number or inventory
item number.
Integration with Kitting Module
When integrated with the Kitting module, lot control numbers can
be assigned to groups of kit item units, in addition to assigning
a specific kit number to each unit. For example, all of the kits
for the assembly of computer workstations packaged on a particular
day, by a particular person, or using particular parts, can be assigned
a specific lot number.
