When a lot-controlled item necessitates a recall, you can generate reports to locate the remaining items in stock and determine the customers who purchased the items so that they are notified about the need to recall the items.

The streamlined lot control system seamlessly integrates with AccountMate 6.5 for LAN's Inventory Control, Accounts Receivable, Sales Order, and Purchase Order, and Kitting modules adding power to your inventory accounting system.

Lot Control Module

Effectively Manage Critical Inventory
You have instant access to the status, effective date, and disposition of critical or perishable inventory items. This enables units of a lot-controlled item to be tracked, used, or sold well prior to their indicated perishable dates. Customers can also be notified of any problems with items they have purchased, and learn about product upgrades or similar items that might be of interest to them.

Tracking Lot-Controlled Items Throughout the System
When transferring inventory items between warehouses or bins, the lot numbers assigned to these units are properly tracked and are printed on reports. Whether it is a sales order shipment, a goods receipt, a manufacturing job or simply an adjustment to the inventory, the lot number attached to each inventory item is tracked with each transaction record for complete audit trail.

Quick Assignment of Lot Numbers
The Assign Lot Number function provides you with flexibility in assigning lot numbers to any or all the units of a specific item stored. You can assign lot numbers by a particular warehouse or bin, an item included in a particular purchase order or a customized kit item included in a sales order. You can also assign lot numbers to standard kits as they are built.

Easy Identification of Lot-Controlled Items
You can easily identify lot-controlled items since these are clearly flagged in the inventory records and the various transaction records.

Recording Expiration Date of Lot-Controlled Items
You may record expiration dates and bin locations of units produced in a particular lot. This is very helpful in managing the inventory items and in verifying an item’s expiration date when a customer inquires. The Inventory Lot Expiration Report identifies items that nearly expire, so a decision can be made to run a special sale rather than letting the items expire on the shelf.

System Lot Number
The system provides the flexibility to track lot-controlled items by lot numbers assigned internally (system lot number) or by lot numbers provided by vendors (vendor lot number). The system lot-controlled numbers are especially useful for items manufactured in-house while vendor lot numbers may be more appropriate for items purchased from vendors. For internal control purposes, you may assign a system lot number in addition to an item’s vendor lot number. In situations where additional processes are performed on a perishable item, you are able to assign a new lot number to meet ISO requirements.

Easy Management of the Lot Control Module
You can activate and deactivate lot control with the click of a button in the Inventory Control module Setup function. You can also set up lot control for particular inventory items through their item records.

Assigning Lot Number during Receipt of Goods
You can assign lot numbers to units of lotcontrolled items during the receipt of purchased goods. There is no need to access the Assign Lot Number function are reenter the inventory item or goods receipt information.

Assigning Serial Numbers to Lot-Controlled Items
In addition to the assigned lot numbers, you can easily assign serial numbers to the units of lot-controlled items. This allows you to properly track the movement of each individual lot-controlled item. When you enter a serial number in the system (such as during shipment of a sales order), the lot information is also recorded with the transaction.

Assigning Kit Numbers to Lot-Controlled Items
You can assign kit numbers to a batch of lot-controlled items. For instance, you can assign a specific lot number to a batch of equipment manufactured or packaged on a particular day or by a particular person.
