New User Interface
AccountMate 6.5 provides you with a
new, dynamic and feature rich user interface (UI). A multi-million
dollar look and a pleasant color scheme have been achieved in this
new design.
Lookup
The lookup feature provides a Search window where you can select
the fields to be displayed, export the data in the grid to Excel,
sort particular fields in either ascending or descending order,
and save the Lookup settings as a macro.
Shortcut Pane Toolbar
With the Shortcut pane toolbar, you can add folders, AM functions,
program shortcuts and express icons right into the AccountMate main
menu window. You can also view 'Recent documents' and 'Favorites'
in a special folder. AccountMate allows you to organize the shortcut
pane in the manner you want, collapse and expand the tree as needed,
and save your last setting for your next use.
Access to Word, Excel, Outlook and
Internet
The new user interface includes icons for Word, Excel, Outlook and
Internet, which when clicked will automatically open the corresponding
application. This link to the most commonly used Microsoft programs
provides you with easy access to the said applications allowing
you to save time and increasing your productivity. Moreover, AccountMate
6.5 provides you with the flexibility to choose the user interface
you want to work on. If you are more comfortable working with the
old user interface, you can configure your workstation to do so;
otherwise, you can accept the default setting and use the new UI.
Error Report
An Error Report window is provided, which stores pertinent information
every time an application error occurs. This window allows you to
view a description of the crash and send a report containing the
details of the error to your AccountMate Business Partner, AccountMate
Technical Support or any recipient who can help you troubleshoot
the problem. As the email that will be sent is generated by the
system and the error message is captured verbatim, the likelihood
that wrong information will be communicated to the parties concerned
is considerably reduced.
Transaction Rollback Gives Additional
Data Protection
This fundamental System Manager feature guarantees data integrity
by ensuring that - if you ever suffer a power failure while a transaction
is in process - the likelihood that you will have incomplete entries
or corrupted files is kept to the absolute minimum. This crucial
safety feature offers significant data integrity benefits.
Multiple Levels of Security Down to
Individual Fields
Security is vital to every company, and AccountMate 6.5's System
Manager delivers multiple levels of password-based security. You
can limit access by company, by module, by function, or time-of-use
by time and day, and you can do this all the way down to key data
fields. Additional security has been added to include global functions
such as user setup, custom reports and report drill- down.
On-line Help Screens Always Available
At every level of operation, System Manager provides you with user-friendly
Help screens that allow you to search for topics related to any
AccountMate 6.5 module, regardless of the module currently being
accessed.
Doc
on Disk
An electronic form of the AccountMate User Documentation is available
for all users whenever it is needed. A Doc on Disk menu is accessible
from the Program Group in the Start menu, which when clicked will
present the user with the Table of Contents. A separate PDF file
is available for each module; and is located in the Documentation
folder under the AccountMate folder.
Hassle-Free Module Activation
Activating the various modules you have is as easy as 1-2-3. You
simply have to enter the product key provided, and the system will
automatically activate all the modules you purchased.
No Preprinted Forms Are Needed
You can use the System Manager to print forms for sales order, invoices,
packing slips, customer statements and purchase orders, along with
the data they contain, on blank paper. You can also print any of
this data on preprinted forms.
Perform Multiple Functions without
Exiting the Current Function
You can use the System Manager to access other functions without
closing the current function. For example, while entering a sale,
you can drill down to a customer or inventory file to set up a new
customer or inventory record, subject only to the limitations of
your access rights. This speeds up data entry. Moreover, a list
of open windows is available in the toolbar. You can also present
the windows in tile order so you can view multiple windows at the
same time.
Store Data Forever
With the System Manager, data can be maintained for an infinite
number of years, limited only by your available disk space. You
can quickly generate reports for any period of any year, instead
of having to search through archived data.
Current Login User List
The System Manager can provide a list of all users who are currently
logged in to AccountMate. When you need to perform a function requiring
exclusive access to the system (such as period-end closing or back
up of data), this information indicates who still needs to exit
AccountMate.
Table Browser
AccountMate 6.5 provides the ability to browse an entire data file.
Password protection is available to prevent unauthorized users from
viewing sensitive information.
Export Data to Spreadsheets
Using the System Manager, all data files can be exported to Excel
as well as to text files. You can select the data fields you want
to export. Filter criteria can also be defined to reduce the number
of records to be exported.
Report Macros Memorize Report Criteria
With the System Manager's report macros, you can define your own
report criteria, enabling you to generate reports without having
to manually re-select the criteria each time.
Longer e-mail Address Fields
As more Internet addresses are registered, companies are often required
to use longer addresses to establish their Internet presence. AccountMate
6.5 provides e-mail address fields that are 60 characters long to
accommodate these situations.
Print Batches and Labels the Easy
Way
A Print-Batch feature enables you set up batches of reports in convenient
cycles for periodic printing. You can set up batches of reports
to be printed weekly, at period-end or at year-end. The Print-Label
feature lets you print labels for customers, vendors, inventory
items and other records.
Password Protection
All users are assigned passwords that can limit their access by
day and time, also controlling which functions they can access.
Extended protection is available at key field levels (e.g., for
overwriting customer credit limits or adding and deleting customers).
Supports Multiple Companies
The system can support up to 999 companies, each with its own chart
of accounts. Access to companies and functions is password-protected.
Certain data can be copied from one company to another; this function
is also password-protected.
Install New Sample Company Databases
With the AccountMate 6.5's System Manager, you now have the ability
to install sample company databases as needed. An easy-to-use new
menu option allows you to install up to ten sample company databases
for each version of software you are running. In cases where you
need to bring the data back to its original state, the system provides
you with the Reinstall Sample Company Database function.
Screen Navigation without the Mouse
Using function keys such as F4 and F5 and certain hot key combinations,
you can navigate throughout AccountMate 6.5 without using the mouse.
This enables you to speed through data entry in functions such as
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
